Generation1.ca’s 2024 Global Industry Skills Study, targeting US, Canadian, and global employers in the data, analytics, and insights sectors is now live. This research seeks to harness industry opinions on labour market trends, aiming to equip educational institutions and immigrant job seekers with the knowledge of essential skills required to thrive amidst uncertainties and technological disruptions. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of understanding the evolving needs of the workforce, highlighting the critical role of data, analytics, and insights in navigating new technologies, skills shortages, diverse talent pools, high costs of living, income inequalities and economic uncertainties in the coming year. The findings of this study will be discussed at our Spring 2024 Virtual Insights Career Fair and Case Competition morning panel.
This initiative responds to a broader trend of industries grappling with the pace of technological change and its impact on the workforce. Data from McKinsey and the World Economic Forum underscore the global challenge and need for re-skilling, with over half of the workforce being reported at risk of job displacement due to automation and a significant shift in core job skills observed in recent years. The 2024 Global Industry Skills Study by Generation1.ca continues to address these culturally significant challenges in business and society, to support the data-informed diverse workforce of tomorrow in insights sectors across North America and globally.
