“In the past and again on September 29, 2023, I participated in a career fair organized by Generation1.ca, under the leadership of Arundati Dandapani. During the event, I had the opportunity to connect with the HR representative from the company I had always aspired to work for. As a result, I successfully secured the role of Research Analyst. Arundati’s dedication, direction and the professional development opportunities provided by Generation1.ca are truly inspiring, making this career fair and case competition a must-attend for anyone looking to kickstart and also advance in their career in data, analytics and insights.”

Nat Stone, Program Coordinator and Professor, Algonquin College Marketing Research and Analysis Program, Canada

“After listening to and chatting with top industry experts at this inspiring career fair and case competition, I gained a better appreciation for the significance of creativity and simplicity in the field of data analysis. I also learned a crucial lesson about communication – it’s vital to consider the perspective of your audience, especially when sharing insights with clients. Making reports and presentations that are both easy to understand and visually appealing is essential.”

Nida Khan, Case Competition Winner, Team Analytics Wizards, Canada

“Arundati’s insights career days are fun, educational and intensely industry-focused. I learned so much as a research industry professional, prospective employee and even as an employer in a previous role. If there is an industry event you must support each year, it has got to be the Generation1.ca insights fairs for the breadth of knowledge, talent and top organizations you can access. At my time at QuestionPro and other jobs Arundati was always supportive of and guided, inspired and helped me contribute to the Market Research world in a positive way.”

Boyan A, Industry Professional, Canada

“At the Generation1.ca Career Fair, I learned that we can bring about meaningful societal impact and help society become a better place for everyone by using research findings and data. From a research perspective, we need to maintain a holistic view and be data literate to interpret what is happening in the world.”

Shiwei Wang, Case Competition Winner, Team Analytics Wizards, Canada

“If you are a job seeker or someone looking to learn, network and establish meaningful connections in the Data and Insights community, please do join these career fairs led by Arundati. I can’t recommend this career-enhancing event or experience enough!”

Shipra P, Industry Professional, Canada

I can say being prepared to get the most from this type of opportunity is so important. Having an elevator pitch, updated resume, knowing about the companies and their roles to be prepared and ask wise questions from recruiters are so useful to utilize the time and opportunity. For me, building a network with seniors and current employees at the Generation1.ca career fair is invaluable and boosts my confidence to go on through my job seeking journey.

Niloofar Nalchigar, Case Competition Winner, Team Insight Architects, Canada

“Working for Arundati and the Generation1.ca team on the Spring 2023 North American Virtual Insights Career Fair was an amazing experience. The team was supportive and collaborative, and I was able to develop my project management, marketing, and technical skills while contributing to a project that had a meaningful impact on the insights industry. Arundati’s vision for the career fair was inspiring, and her dedication to making it a valuable and memorable experience for all participants, from job seekers to employers to partners, was truly commendable. I would highly recommend internshipa at Generation1.ca as a great opportunity to work and learn, and I’m grateful to have been a part of this wonderful opportunity, and also to have been a student of Professor Arundati at Humber College where she taught us a great deal about the global data and insights industry and its various regulatory pieces impacting business dynamics.”

Fathima Zikker, Former Generation1.ca Intern

“Being a member of the Generation1.ca team and contributing to the planning of the Generation1.ca’s Spring 2023 Virtual Insights Career Fair was an enjoyable journey for me. As an intern at Generation1.ca, I have gained a wider perspective on the field of data and insights as my role was not limited to any specific areas, but was rather flexible. This gave me a chance to be involved in different planning stages. My duties varied from sending outreach and communication emails to institutions, employers, and job seekers, writing blog posts and creating content for workshop lounges, to hosting panel sessions with Generation1.ca speakers. The most rewarding part was seeing the success of Inclusive Futures Lounge on the day of the career fair. Together with Arundati, the founder of Generation1.ca, I planned and managed content for this workshop lounge, which served as a robust forum to discuss realistic matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, as well as exchange ideas on how individuals can navigate a data rich world. Interning for Generation1.ca and participating in the Career Fair was truly meaningful and helped connect talented job seekers like myself to wonderful employers across Canada and the US. I believe this career fair has brought opportunities for wonderful individuals to meet and learn from each other as employers, speakers, or job seekers. The career fair was an all-round success and I can’t express my gratitude enough for being a Generation1.ca intern.”

Bao Nhi Phan, former Generation1.ca intern, current Research Associate at Environics Research, Toronto
