As artificial intelligence advances rapidly, organizational readiness is no longer simply a technology question. It is a leadership, workforce, governance and public-trust imperative.
Taking place in late November or early December 2026, Generation1.ca’s Future Ready Governance: AI Readiness & Maturity will bring together leaders from government, technology, research, industry and civil society to examine the growing gap between AI capability and institutional preparedness.
The event will move beyond conversations about what AI can do to address the harder questions:
- Are organizations equipped to govern AI responsibly?
- Do employees and leaders have the skills to adopt it effectively?
- Are governance systems keeping pace with implementation?
- How can institutions build trust while managing risk?
- What does genuine AI maturity look like across people, processes and technology?
Through expert discussions, practical insights and cross-sector dialogue, participants will explore responsible AI adoption, workforce readiness, data governance, accountability, trust and implementation. The program will examine not only how mature an organization’s technology is, but whether its leadership, culture and decision-making systems are ready to use it responsibly.
This event builds on Generation1.ca’s 2025 program, Future Ready Governance: Ethical AI and Public Sector Data Practices, advancing the conversation from ethical principles to organizational preparedness and action.
