The Art of Pysanky: Ukrainian Easter Eggs in a Globalized World

Ukrainian Easter, celebrated on April 12th, embodies family warmth and cherished traditions, evoking memories of childhood. Decorated eggs (pysanky) carry symbolic meanings, while Easter bread (paska) represents eternity. Amidst modern challenges, preserving these traditions remains vital for connecting past and future generations of Ukrainians, especially for those far from home.

AI Governance in Latin America

In March, I presented at ESOMAR’s LATAM Congress on the role of methodological innovation in responsible AI governance. My research discusses using ethically governed synthetic datasets to understand hard-to-reach immigrant groups. I address AI governance trade-offs and emphasize the need for careful strategic decisions to balance privacy, innovation, and social inclusion.

Our Dreams for Africa: AfroRise2050

In 2025, Generation1.ca CEO Arundati Dandapani launched AfroRise2050, a fellowship connecting African immigrants to their homelands and the world. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Generation1.ca unveils “Our Dreams for Africa” anthology, highlighting the challenges faced by immigrants of colour and promoting cultural exchange, knowledge and support within and across the African immigrant diaspora.
