Geographic Insights: This survey revealed a strong participation from Ontario (42%) and New York (32%), reflecting vibrant hubs of industry activity.
Industry Concentration: With 51% of respondents hailing from private sector suppliers for qualitative research, alongside notable representation from the public sector (22%), educational institutions (12%), and academia (12%), our industry’s diversity is its strength.

Evolving Landscape: Over the past four years, we have witnessed a steady rise in the value of market research, with an increase of 6% each year.
Top Skills in Demand: Research design (9%), communication (9%), research methods (9%), data handling & preparation (9%), problem scoping (8%), and data collection (8%) emerged as the cornerstones of success in our field.
A Quantitative Imperative: Quantitative research methods (28%), engagement with work tasks (20%), and organizational fit (17%) were identified as indispensable skills for professionals navigating the ever-changing landscape of our industry.

Currently enrolled in the Marketing Research and Analysis program at Algonquin College, Niloufar Taheri’s team secured the first prize in the virtual insights case competition during the Fall 2024 job fair hosted by Generation1.ca. With a background in MBA and Financial Management Bachelor’s degrees, Niloufar brings a solid educational foundation to her endeavours. Further, she possesses valuable experience in international trade and the natural stones industry. Her professional interests revolve around marketing and international trade, where her true passion lies. She considers herself to be a self-motivated, creative individual with a positive mindset and a touch of humour.
