Career Connections Impact Your Success

As someone who has leveraged career connections to advance in my own professional life, I can attest to the value of constant professional networking for researchers, business and data people in all stages of their careers. Networking can help individuals tap into the hidden job market, because many job openings are not advertised publicly. According to a LinkedIn study, 85 percent of all jobs are filled through networking, whereas only 15 percent are filled through job boards and career websites. Similarly, 70 percent of professionals reported that they were hired at a company where they had a connection, highlighting the power of networking in landing job opportunities.

Further, in another survey of small business owners by Infusionsoft, 70 percent said that networking events are a valuable source of new business leads, while 80% said that word-of-mouth referrals are their most effective marketing tool. Thus if you are not attending Generation1.ca’s North American Virtual Insights Career Fair on April 28 between 10 am and 4 pm EST, you will be missing out on such critical networking. In addition to the opportunity to network with leading employers, thought leaders and industry experts, you will be able to attend a number of workshop and professional development lounges like the Career Connections Lounge dedicated to group activities and fun learnings about improving your career outcomes. You will expand your professional reach and learn new strategies for success.

I will be your host at the Career Connections Lounge and guide you through the various sessions featuring brilliant leaders from around the industry. You will gain valuable insights into the latest trends, data stories, best practices, and technologies across industries in this lounge. You will connect with like-minded peers and form strategic alliances that could lead to new opportunities. Whether you are just starting out in your career or looking to move to the next level, our Career Connections Lounge will assist you in your career journey. The Generation1.ca North American Virtual Insights Career Fair is your perfect destination to start building valuable relationships and propel your career or business to new heights! We look forward to meeting and getting to know you on April 28.

Ninety-five percent of respondents believed that attending events can help build and maintain professional networks, with 76% saying that they prefer attending events that offer networking opportunities.
