Arundati Dandapani, CEO and Founder of Generation1.ca, and Professor was spotlighted in Humber Polytechnic’s FLAS Connect (Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences Newsletter) for her thought leadership in synthetic data ethics, sparked by her presentations and publications in this field of study. Her featured discussion at Stevens Institute of Technology, “Beyond Reality or Promise: The Pitfalls and Potential of Synthetic Data,” explores the balance between human insight and AI-generated data—highlighting the need for ethical oversight in (highly regulated) sectors like healthcare and finance at the very least, and also beyond as we move into a world of population decline, slowing globalization / immigration, citizen churn and other problems affecting the research of hard-to-reach populations, response burden and under-sampling of immigrants.
