Our annual Friday brunch with my terrific mentee was another chance to exchange ideas on the power of data literacy, evidence-based insights and the careers taking shape around them. We continued to explore how technical skills connect with human judgment, discussed new strategic possibilities and capabilities already built, being built and new ones to grow, and celebrated wins. Thank you Haley Amodeo (also an Insight250 2026 winner) for your commitment to a terrific relationship and growing the impact for yourself and your communities with me, Generation1.ca and our partner communities.
Nearly half of all employers surveyed in Generation1.ca’s GISS 2026 identified collaboration and communication for enhanced training, a reminder for all that career growth depends on how we connect and work with others. Thus, the power of networking and mentorship in our community and outside has often proven so impactful for our 2000+ members.
I came away reflecting on Generation1.ca’s own leap forward this year: expanding our global reach through programming and bold action, while navigating the uneasy spaces of settlement, belonging and identity that give our work its distinctive voice. Here’s to many more brunches, gatherings, festivals and summits powering insight-led action.
